Kembla Grange’s newest training partners have signed off their maiden season in the best possible way, claiming both the local and overall training premierships.
Mitch Beer and George Carpenter have been working together for two years and made their training partnership official in September 2025.
Since then, they have trained 60 winners including 17 at their home track.
Heuristic (Siena Grima) gave the pair their final triumph of the season on Thursday, arriving right on time in the Lexy Get Well Provincial Benchmark 68 Handicap over 1200m on the new Illawarra Grange track.
“It has been a terrific first season as a partnership and hopefully we can continue to build on it,” Carpenter said. “The results wouldn’t have been possible without our hardworking staff and the support of our owners. We’re also grateful to the club for consistently providing quality racing surfaces and outstanding training facilities.”
Keagan Latham’s dominance of the Kembla Grange riding ranks continued throughout 2025/2026. The popular hoop earned 32 points more than his nearest rival to be named Champion Jockey for the seventh time. He also took out the NSW Provincial Jockeys Premiership.
Mollie Fitzgerald was again the star of the junior riders, kicking clear as Apprentice of the Year.
Audenzia’s outstanding season was rewarded with the Kembla Grange Horse of the Year title. The Diane Poidevin Laine-trained mare notched four wins and three places at her home track throughout 2025/2026 banking more than $100,000 in prizemoney.
The new racing season kicks off with an eight-race meeting on Saturday, 8th August.
