Of course! Kembla Grange Racecourse is a great place for a family day out. General admission is free for children, and they must always be accompanied by a responsible adult.
Under 18s are welcome to enjoy the day in the Lawn Marquee, Grandstand, and Grandstand Bistro as well as on the Public Lawn. Children with Members of The Illawarra Turf Club can also spend the day on the Members Lawn and in the Rose Garden Precinct.
Under 18s are not permitted in the Members Bar, Dining Room, AJ Bert Lillye Lounge, or Public Bar.
Yes, General Admission tickets can always be purchased at the gate on the day of the race meeting but it’s best to pre-purchase tickets via Moshtix to save time and money.
Hospitality packages must be booked at least 24 hours in advance.
Yes. The main car park, entry gates, General Admission areas, Members Bar, and all function areas including the Lawn Marquee, AJ Bert Lillye Lounge, Ken Brown Dining Room, and Grandstand Bistro are wheelchair accessible.
The outdoor seated area of the grandstand is not accessible via wheelchair.
Wheelchair accessible toilets are located on the ground floor of the Public Bar and the Members Bar, and at the southern end of the Grandstand Bistro. There is also an accessible toilet within the administration building.
There is a limited number of accessible car parks outside the administration building for those with an NSW Government-issued permit.
Racegoers are welcome to pack a picnic and enjoy it in designated areas including the Lawn Marquee, Public Lawn, and Public Bar. These are ideal spots to base a group.
External caterers are not permitted anywhere on course.
Sweet and savoury grazing boxes can be ordered from Kembla Grange Racecourse via Moshtix at least 48 hours in advance. There are also outlets to purchase food on race days.
BYO food is strictly prohibited in the Dining Room, Grandstand Bistro, AJ Bert Lillye Lounge, Members Bar, and on the Members Lawn.
No. Drinks, especially alcohol, must not be brought into Kembla Grange Racecourse under any circumstances. Bags are checked on arrival, and all liquids will be confiscated.
There is a dedicated smoking area at the rear of the public lawn. No smoking or vaping is permitted outside that area.
Most dietary requirements can be catered to with adequate notice. Please inform the Catering Coordinator of your needs at least seven days in advance.
No. Pop-up cabanas and tents must not be brought into the racecourse. The best way to ensure all-day access to an undercover seat is to book a space in the Lawn Marquee. Bookings can be made for one person or a group via Moshtix.
Fold-up chairs can be brought into the racecourse and used on the Public Lawn only. They are not permitted in any other areas.
No. Balloons including garlands and arches cannot be brought into Kembla Grange Racecourse under any circumstances. There is a risk they could spook a horse if they pop or become loose.
No animals, except registered guide and assistance dogs, are permitted at Kembla Grange Racecourse.
Yes. A day at the races is a great place to celebrate. Please note that while costumes and themed dress can be worn on the Public Lawn, in the Public Bar, and in the Lawn Marquee, it’s not acceptable in Members or dining areas.
